Naturally Occurring Simple Oxygenated Benzophenones: Structural Diversity, Distribution, and Biological Properties

چکیده

Naturally occurring benzophenones represent a relatively small group of plant metabolites with narrow distribution, mainly in members Clusiaceae, Gentianaceae, Hypericaceae, Polygalaceae, Myrtaceae, etc.; however, there were reports several compounds derived from microorganisms belonging to the Aspergillaceae and Valsaceae families propolis. Benzophenones exhibit many biological activities, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cytotoxic, antimicrobial, etc. Few reviews on that have appeared literature focused their prenylated derivatives. Summarized information structural diversity, activities simple oxygenated naturally glycosides has not been found literature. Until 2000, only benzophenone C-glycosides known occur nature. Since then, O-glycosides isolated, structurally, biologically characterized. This review covers years 1850 2023 was compiled using databases Chemical Abstracts, Scopus, Google Scholar, PubMed, ResearchGate. Based degree oxidation, 210 chemical structures derivatives grouped into six categories. In addition, one 40 miscellaneous benzophenones, where or protons are replaced by methyl, alcohol, carboxyl, acyl group, glycosidic forms an aglycone dimeric xanthone included. Simple 77 genera 44 families. The allergy-associated bezophenone-1, benzophenone-2 benzophenone-3 limited distribution across natural sources. A wide range (antioxidant, antitumor, cytoprotective, MAO-A, antiarthritic, anticholinesterase, anti-atherosclerotic, laxative, etc.) discussed.

Chapter Two Biological and Molecular Diversity of Naturally Occurring Resistance Breaking Strains of Soybean mosaic virus

Resistance to Soybean mosaic virus (SMV; Genus Potyvirus; Family Potyviridae) is controlled by single dominant genes at three distinct loci, Rsv1, Rsv3 and Rsv4, in soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.). SMV isolates are classified into pathotypes G1 through G7 based on the differential reactions on resistant soybean cultivars. Most SMV isolated in the USA is of the G1 to G3 pathotypes. Since the cu...

Synthesis and biological activity of naturally occurring α-glucosidase inhibitors.

In addition to their clinical importance in the treatment of type II diabetes, a-glucosidase inhibitors have attracted considerable attention from the synthetic community because of their profound effect on an array of cellular processes, including N-linked glycoprotein processing and maturation, oligosaccharide metabolism, and cell–cell and cell–virus recognition. Over the past decade, a numbe...

Naturally occurring ehrlichiosis in Egyptian dogs

Canine ehrlichiosis has emerged as one of the most clinically important tick-borne diseases affecting dogs. Eighty-five naturally infected dogs have been investigated, the most consistent clinical signs recorded were fever, emaciation and lymphoadenopathy, anemia, monocytosis, thrompocytopenia, hypoalbuminemia, elevation in liver enzymes and total bilirubin were the most remarkable changes asso...

Structures and Properties of Naturally Occurring Polyether Antibiotics

Polyether ionophores represent a large group of natural, biologically active substances produced by Streptomyces spp. They are lipid soluble and able to transport metal cations across cell membranes. Several of polyether ionophores are widely used as growth promoters in veterinary. Polyether antibiotics show a broad spectrum of bioactivity ranging from antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic, ...
